Gangs of Social Media by Vasimraja Bhavikatti.

The Blurb & The Story:

India’s one and only Forensic Cyber Psychologist, Professor Fabulous is summoned by the National Cyber Defence of India to hunt down the mastermind behind a cyber-attack on social media users who intentionally or unintentionally spread fake news. He has twelve hours before all the private data of social media users will be made public and all the devices used to spread fake news will self-destruct. In the name of freedom of speech and driven by blind emotion, all social media users are guilty of sharing, forwarding, tweeting fake unverified information. Will this be the end of fake news or the end of social media itself? In a desperate race against time, Professor Fabulous encounters online scammers, cyber hacktivist gangs, paid trolls, Social Media business executives, Politicians, Cybersecurity Start-ups, and a forgotten victim of fake news before the mastermind reveals his motive behind the cyber-attack.

My Take:

What will you do if your mobile gets hanged and then a message pops up saying that you need to pay 1 lac or all your data will be made public, it happened only after forwarding an unverified message on your Whatsapp group?

Gangs of Social Media is the debut novel written by the author and its the most unique and eye-opening story that you will read.

The story is about how nowadays people don't think before forwarding messages on social media, even if the person is well educated and has a reputed life still social media addiction has risen in such a level that no one thinks twice. This story is based on the same situation, where how the nations get cyber-attacked by forwarding masses on social media.

The author Vasimraja Bhavikatti has written the story in a realistic way that only awakes the realization of the addictiveness of social media in you but also creates a doubt what if it really happens in real what would you do?

The highlight of the book is the author Vasimraja Bhavikatti has chosen a topic and story that is so sensitive and important matter with a so powerful massage, along with a motive to spread awareness to stop forwarding the fake news.  I loved reading the book, which also has suspense and mystery in it.

The book is very informative, written with lots of research and creativity.

Overall a truly amazing and must-read book. I would defiantly recommend this book to others. So if you want to read a story of how you can get cyber-attacked by social media then click here and read now Gangs of Social Media by Vasimraja Bhavikatti.
